Sunday morning we woke up to enjoy our first free day! Our whole group uses Facebook chat to communicate so around 11am our devices were beeping away trying to figure out how to enjoy our first free day and we can actually see the sun with no rain nearby! We decided we wanted to make it a beach day so we all planned to meet up at 12:30 on the beach where the hotel we stayed at two years ago, Las Arenas.  The metro is two mintues from our house so we took that and told the boys to meet us at the station and we would all go together.  Well we all know nothing ever goes right for us and our directional skills seem to be deteriorating day by day…well we bought our tickets for the metro with few issues but we got on the wrong number metro.  The one we chose went allll through the city and near no where we needed to go. So that was a fun way to begin the journey.  We got off at the third stop when we realized we messed up once again and a metro lady helped us out to get to the right one. When we finally made it to the beach we were about 45 minutes late so we just wandered around to see if we could find our friends.  The beach is large with a ton of people so that search died down real quick.  About 20 min later Jake got up to check out if a group we saw were our friends..they weren’t but our friends were not far off, literally 50 ft away from us and neither of us noticed.  So we all got our stuf together and hung around for a few hours.
Hunger everntualy hit so we found a cute little place for lunch on the beach.  All 5 of the girls went while the boys graciously watched our stuff back at the beach.  We enjoyed a nice pitcher of refreshing Sangria while we waited for our waiter.  The waiter eventually came to take our order and was clearly thrown off when the five of us girls ordered 3 pizzas and 2 pasta plates...typical Americans again.  He gave us an odd look at if we didn't know how much food we were really ordering and when the food came out, the looks continued from the whole restaurant.  The food runner laughed when he just kept coming back with more food.  Other diners were staring curiously as to how all the food was going to be consumed.  Of course all was finished and we lived up to the stereotype that Americans eat too much.  As always a little more chaos erupted when one of our friends made a joke while the other was drinking her sangria, and needless to say, Jen got a nice shower of sangria.  It was one of the funniest things any of us has experienced and was something we thought only really happened in movies.
After lunch we head back to the beach for a little longer before returning back home to start homework. We were exhausted and needed a break from work after about 2 hours so we decided to go for a short walk around the block to wake us up and stopped by a pastry shop across from our apartment.  We dined on a Valencian pastry called a zuzu which is a creme puff pastry with creme in the middle and a sugar coating on the outside.  Fue fantastico.
After our little break we returned to slowlyyy getting work done before dinner.  When dinner was finally served for us we had a tortilla de carne (meat) and...the dreaded pasta salad de tuna.  The tortilla de carne was actually good and it was full of vegis, eggs, meat, and spices.  We did everything we could to avoid having to eat a single piece of that pasta and when we figured out we were eating dinner without our "parents" it was a dream come true because we knew we didn't have to act like we actually liked it.  So casually we just rearranged the pasta on the plate to make it look like we did.

When we were finished with dinner we returned to our rooms to work some more and just hung out for the night.  By the time we were ready to fall asleep we were so tired we felt looney and couldn't fall asleep.  Eventually I faded out a little after 1 and Jen shortly after.
